The cooker is made from commercially pure virgin aluminium with a 6.35 mm double-thick, hard anodised base — significantly thicker than the 3.25 mm base of the standard Hawkins Classic. Permanently bonded to this extra-thick base is a plate of AISI 430 grade magnetic stainless steel that makes the cooker fully induction-compatible while maintaining natural compatibility with gas, electric, ceramic, and halogen cooktops as well. At 3 litres, it is sized for 3-4 people and the straight-body design makes it a practical everyday cooking companion. Hawkins backs the Hevibase with a 5-year guarantee.
The 6.35 mm double-thick base is the Hevibase's defining engineering feature — it provides two advantages that the standard Hawkins cookers cannot match.
