The Hawkins Contura Black Pressure Cooker – 2 Litre is a compact, everyday hard anodised cooker from Hawkins' premium Contura range — a step up in capacity from the 1.5L model, making it better suited to couples and small families of 2 to 3 people who cook daily. The body is hard anodised to 60 microns thickness inside and outside, delivering the Contura Black's hallmark deep, permanent black finish that is part of the aluminium surface — not a paint or coating — and therefore impossible to chip, peel, or corrode under normal kitchen conditions. The stainless steel lid adds an additional layer of durability and hygiene. At 2 litres, this cooker handles daily rice and dal for a small household, quick-cooked vegetables, and single-serve meat portions with ease and speed. Recommended for use on gas stoves only. Like all Contura models, the 2L Contura Black features a curved, handi-shaped body (Contura shape) with rounded sides that make stirring during the initial cooking stage easier, reduce sticking in corners, and simplify cleaning after each use. The hard anodised surface absorbs heat faster than standard aluminium, accelerating pressure build-up and making cooking more fuel-efficient on a daily basis. The pressure-locked inner lid seals from within the body and physically cannot open while there is internal pressure — providing a level of safety that outer-lid designs cannot match.
